Vascular Refill Detection is unique to Kendall SCD™ compression; allowing the controller to customize compression cycles based upon the patient’s individual venous refill time. This helps to move the maximum amount of blood over time, up to 76% more blood as compared to compression systems without Vascular Refill Detection.

Default compression cycle of 11 seconds is applied to patient legs
  • Sleeve deflates, holding 6 mmHg in the middle chamber of the calf
  • Pressure is held and monitored for up to 60 seconds to evaluate girth changes of the calf
  • When the calf girth stops increasing for 10 seconds, this signals the leg veins have refilled completely
  • Vascular refill time is now calculated and set; sleeve deflates
  • Vascular refill time is re-evaluated every 30 minutes to account for changes in patient variables
